James (Jim) Newhouse’s genuine passion for helping people, and contributing to their success and well being are obvious to anyone who knows him. He is an experienced, creative second-generation professional insurance broker known for being able to see the big picture, and unique ability to explain complex subjects in easily understandable terminology.

Jim began his career in insurance during a college internship at age 19 with The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, where he was one of the youngest people to be licensed in the company’s history. Jim was mentored by his father Stanley Newhouse who consistently ranked as a top salesperson with Mass Mutual, and was a well respected leader in the life insurance industry.

After graduating from Washington and Jefferson College, Jim founded Newhouse Financial and Insurance Brokers, where he became a recognized authority on subject matter pertaining to insurance. Jim obtained his Chartered Life Underwriter designation (CLU) from the American College, widely considered the benchmark and most respected designation in the industry.

He also holds a certification in Long Term Care through the CLTC Board of Standards, Inc. Jim has held leadership roles with and continues to be involved with many industry trade groups including the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), and he is a Gold Knight of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), the charitable arm of a global, independent association of the world's leading life insurance and financial services professionals. He has spoken to numerous groups about the importance of insurance and estate planning.

In recognition of his many years of dedication, professional service and ethics in the financial and insurance industry, Jim received a proclamation from the County of Westchester, NY in 2000.

Jim cares about his community and is a proud to belong to, and contribute significant time and financial support to numerous charitable organizations, focused on food insecurity, animal rescues, health and wellness, youth outreach and cultural enrichment.

Jim grew up in Westchester County, NY and lives in Katonah, NY with his wife and daughter. In his spare time, Jim enjoys going to car shows, concerts, garden tours, skiing, and following the NY Football Giants, where his family have been season ticket holders since the team’s founding in 1925.
